Vice President - Alouki Shah
Hello there! I am a fifth-year student pursuing a B.S in Architectural Engineering and M.S in Building Systems Engineering. I have been involved with SWE since my freshman year at IIT and it has taught me many valuable lessons and skills as a female engineer. The support and guidance I have received thus far excite me to use my position to grow our network and strengthen our community. Outside of classes, you can find me enjoying the outdoors, spending time with friends & family, or sharing recipes on my Instagram page! |
Outreach Chair - Cassandra Carlson
Hello! My name is Cassandra Carlson and I am the Outreach Chair for the SWE chapter at Illinois Tech. I am a second year Biomedical Engineering student, specializing in Medical Imaging and minoring in Computer Science. Besides SWE, I’m also involved with the Biomedical Engineering Society, Alpha Sigma Alpha, and Camras to name a few. I decided to become an engineer because I love to discover new things and solve problems and SWE allows me to surround myself with like-minded women who inspire me to be my best. When I have freetime, I love to explore the outdoors -- something I learned from growing up in the middle-of-nowhere Wisconsin -- or when I’m not doing that I love cooking, lifting, and reading.

Secretary - Nooha Menk
Hi, my name is Nooha Menk and I will be serving as the Secretary of SWE-IIT this term. I am currently a fourth-year undergraduate student studying Chemical Engineering, and during my time here I have been involved with SWE and AIChE since my first year. I am excited to be joining SWE's executive board this year to provide other students with the same opportunities and support that I have been given since I joined 3 years ago. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and travelling, and when I 'm not being active, I really enjoy playing the ukulele!

Corporate Chair - Abigail Gunderson

Hello! My name is Abigail Gunderson most people call me Abby. I am a 3rd-year Chemical Engineering major. I am the Corporate Chair for SWE as well as the Treasurer for AIChE. Outside of SWE you can probably find me listening to podcasts or conducting vital research into memes.
Treasurer - Muntaha Imteyaz
Hey! My name is Muntaha Imteyaz, and I am the Treasurer of SWE at Illinois Tech. I’m a third-year, double majoring in Architecture and Architectural Engineering with a specialization in Digital Design. As a third culture kid, my upbringing made me passionate about design and infrastructure. I strongly believe that creativity and technicality are two sides of the same coin. I also realized how under-represented women are in this sector, and joining SWE, I have had the opportunity to meet amazing women with a shared passion for engineering and innovation. When I get some free time, I enjoy exploring new restaurants and finding new spots to hang out with friends. I also enjoy reading books and love spending time in bookstores (often having to stop spending all my money here).

Events Coordinator - Dristi Chaudhuri
Hello! My name is Dristi Chaudhuri and I am the Events Coordinator for the SWE Chapter of Illinois Tech. I am a fifth-year student, pursuing a Biomedical Engineering Bachelor's degree and a Bio-Imaging and Signals Masters degree, from the suburbs of Chicago. My passion lies in improving the quality of the lives of people in ways doctors can't, through the innovation and new research of medical devices. I also strongly believe and am fully committed to empowering under-represented communities, especially in the STEM fields, which is why I joined SWE in the first place. It is a beautiful network to be a part of as it has allowed me to meet very accomplished people. In my free time, I enjoy exploring our beautiful city of Chicago, visiting/learning about new places, reading books, and learning new dances (yes, even tik tok ones!)
